New Fluorinated Polymer Plant
Asahi Glass Company has decided to establish a plant at its AGC Chemicals Europe, Ltd. site (formerly Asahi Glass Fluoropolymers UK Limited) in Thornton Cleveleys, Lancashire to manufacture the fluorinated resin ETFE, which is used as insulating material for electrical wiring and as a raw material in the production of films. Construction began in January 2006 with anticipated completion in the 2nd Quarter 2007. The total investment will be approximately 15 million pounds sterling. See NEWS section for more details.
